The Mayor Mr [Elom?] was present & remarked to me that a man must be very blind not to see the future change in relations of the Blacks to the Whites. The 48th Regt mustered out to day. Paymaster has come Called & spent the evening with the Mayor Mr. [Elom ?] in company with Sumner He gave an account of a Lieut Todd of the U. S. A. how he seduced (probably) one of the ladies of the 1st circles | ||
