May 120" Sat 28th Camped in the woods last night -as we left the river we came [to] a poor [sandy] country - saw some antelope some of the company saw elk [wolves] & foxes tryed to kill an antelope but he would not stand camped on the bluff of the Loup fo 1/2 mile? unclear went Elk hunting in the timber but got none took a swim in the Loup - i - Dis 21 miles??

Went 10 miles after our oxen found them all right - camped unclear lay over till Monday after 5 mile drive took a good wash & swim in Loup -rained? this the evening Dis 5 miles
