93 302. FAVOR [left margin] May 9. 1874. Milton Favor, Esq. Rio del Norte, Texas. Sir,

         In the month of January 1872 a Scout of sixty (60) Mexicans from the vicinity of San Dieto, a small town about thirty miles from Chihuahua, Mexico, crossed to this side of the Rio Grande in pursuit of a party of Indians, who has stolen a lot of horses at San Diego (towards the Guadalupe Mountains).  
    The official report which conveyed this information states that you had a conversation with the Commander of that party, &c.
    The Commanding General of this Department will be indebted if you will give him all the information in your possession concerning this matter.   In case you know of other persons who may have any knowledge of the facts, he will be pleased to have you communicate their names and residence to him.
