13th Sep 1843. Wednesday. Rainined all day. nothing done. Bird. moving? S.W. 14th Thursday. Cloudy and appearance of Rain. ML making preparation to start for Fort Union, and unclear? for proceeding down the River. M Laidlaw left Fort Pierre for Fort Union at 1/4 past 11. We left at 2 same day. Landed at The Farm procured some Corn and a few Potatoes and 1 Pig. we had w others on board. We crossed the River and landed for the night. __ 15th Friday. Foggy morning, reached Fort of the appafition? it is called. Harris traded for some Indian C??iatitia?. I saw a beautiful Grey wolf belonging to the ho?, but the unclear? was absent. we were kindly received by M Illingworth left again at a 1/4 past 10. Wind ahead, and obliged to land at 2.
