30 young ladies under her charge. I believe they are quite well pleased with her. They have monthly Receptions and the young ladies are permitted to invite all of their friends and are very pleasant I hear. Their rules are very strict for the young ladies are not allowed to go out or receive company any eve- ning except Friday. I do not call at the Seminary quite as often as I did last winter for I have not as many friends there now. Mrs Sheppard is the music teacher in the Seminary. The College is any thing but prosperous the number of Students daily diminishing. I do not know whether I can tell you any [?] news or not. The streets are just as muddy as when
