             Yours received last evening of the sundry blessings and punishments fro which you give thanks I respond a hearty Amen: and I will close the exercises by pronouncing bedediction,-bene. for us male [underline] for the damned old scoundrel at the "other end of the Avenue."    May this dispenser of brimstone a blue blazes, shower down upon him and all "conservatives" an Egyptian shower of plagues and terrors, and finally administer to them an abundant entrance into Hell."
