Dear Sister Abby:
I received your letter last Thursday Evening, over to Brother Samuels. I went Last Wednesday and spent the remainder of the week with them. I know it is not for want of affection for us, I'm afraid his heart is full of sorrow - In regard to the money which mother left for him. She wanted it should [[written down left hand side of page]] I did'nt have any room to sign my name on the last page, but of course you know it is from your affectionate sister Mary -
