travelling on you pass through verry broken land in thinly settled till you cross the N and South Elkhorn 4 miles from Frankfort which emties into Kaintucky R. 12 miles below Frankfort here the land is hilly and stony but well settled Frankfort - the seat of government for the state of Kaintucky is situate on the East bank of the Kaintucky R. but an indifferant place situate on a small flat surrounded by vast hills over this River is thrown a floating Bridge in leaving Frankfort you pass through a better country and much better inhabited when you arrive at Shelbyvill or? 22 miles ride -- this place is situate on the West bank of Clear creek
