It is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing Gal. 4:18. Enthusiasm, then is either good or bad according to the character of its object. Zeal for a good thing is good. Zeal for a bad thing is bad & The Bible sharply discriminates between the true and the false. Paul condemns himself for that misdirected impulse which drove him exceedingly mad in persecuting the early Christians. He condemns the Jews for having a zeal of God, even, but not according to knowledge.
