1867 Jan 1st All went to Jefferson to ball went in waggon pretty cold 10 Ada and H went to Brooks to Picnic ball have had several flurries of snow but not enough to make good sleighing 12 we all went to Harlem sleighriding 17 Walter and Ett went to Chicago and brought Em home with them and they went up to gillispies to ball 23 went to Wm Willis's funeral 24th Tuck Moody came here on a visit 25 had big snow storm 30th more snow good sleighing 28 All went to Jo Toats for evening visit awful cold Feb 2d Hasbrouck and I went down to Harlem and stayed all night and Martha came home with us 5 I went home with Martha and she and I went to Talman's to see the good Templars dance weather cold and rather too much snow to be good sleighing 9th & 10 very cold 12 it is thawing very fast Hasbrouck gone to Breton to lecture 13th-14th very cold Thermometer 8 degrees below zero - plenty snow March 19th Mr Barty's folks moved here 20th roads quite passible considerable snow on ground 26 Another snow storm had cold weather nearly all this month 27th Mr Willey went to Jefferson in sleigh 28th We moved to Harlem roads not very bad Apr 1st First spring like day very pleasant 2d heard first prairie hen 3d first frog 6th snow storm 10th Hasbrouck came here to board 8th Ella had Photograph taken for Mr Tay 9th she went to Chicago to visit Emma stayed till the 16th 18 Martha and Mary Robins went to Chicago weather quite warm but mudholes so bad we cannot go up home 27th cold and backward flurry of snow 28th one month gone and we have not bee up home yet 30th went home May 1st & 2d cold 3d hard freeze May 4th Rained nearly all day 8th Clark set fruit trees 15 Went to Chicago to stay with Sister Libby she was sick 20th Hasbrouck left here 7th Church at Leyden organized 21-22 awful cold rain storm the worst I ever saw this time of year the poor cattle suffer awfully they had to let them go without being milked and they ran off to the woods for shelter
