Ex No. 5 For the purpose of making correct movements with legs to produce short quick tapping without forcing foot out & back, as is apt to be the case with a beginner. Stand on L & place right hand on back of a chair. Bend the right knee, so that the heel of R is near calf of left leg; now drop foot as though it were lifeless, with the ankle flexible which will let ball of foot strike first. After a little practise in this manner, will be found almost impossible to let the foot drop, without making two taps.
