Oct 31, 1964 Dear Jack -

Thanks for your essay, which of course we shall use. I don't think the symposium will add up to a great deal, or make any real answers, but we do have I think a number of interesting pieces in it. And we are grateful to you for your help. If we had a years' time and some money I think we could pursue the various lead we have & make a good book out of it all. Meanwhile, we have what we have.
I'm delighted that you had a good summer. We stayed at home except for a few weeks drive into the Adirondacks.
I have put your underlined: Disinherited on the list for my course in 20th Century Fiction. I don't know how large the registration will be, but it will I suppose be something - & I look forward to seeing what these 60's students make of you.
 Again, many thanks.
And underlined: all good wishes,

Erling
