Dear Jack:
Just now received a telegram from Harry Sheridan giving me information that Jimmy Sheridan had been
moved from the hospital to -
Royal Oaks Convalescent Center, 625 North Harlem Ave. Oak Park, Illinois.
So his condition must not be too critical
_______ I trust you received Panorama for 1/8, as it contained three reviews by you. For a long time I'd been saying that Bob Hope was the unfunniest comedian, and then I heard you use
the exact phrase at 708 N. Clark, when I first met you, though I'd heard of you via Diggles several times, and in fact, think I once' phoned you - acting on Diggles' suggestion - when I was still anxious to attend some sort of cram course in writing. Cram, because I had so little time, due to commuting from Englewood to Gary, where I worked on the E.J.& E., captive road of U.S. Steel; 12 hours a day with only an occasional day off, No 5-day schedule then. on side [Bob] Hope worked at the Stafford on 63rd consistent, he was lousy even then
In his book The Big Fellow, Frank O'Connor did some British ass-kicking by saying Michael Collins liked W. Churchill. Impossible, as
the harsh conditions under which the treaty was signed were partly W.C.'s work.
O'Connor used to work for B.B.C. from time to (over)
