Dear Rev. C: Note here a startling case of the ethical degeneration inevitable in nicotine addicts. There are now regular meetings at Hull House for Junior Junkies - dope addicts between 15 and 21 years of age. This is an effort to trans-plant AA amongst the needle-boys. Whether it will succeed remains to be seen. "Prognosis guarded." You might tell Algren about it. I still harbor the hunch that he is "hooked". This is either a tribute to his literary powers on the subject - or a very unfair thought for me to harbor concerning n old neighbor.
