Boston Sept. 25th. 1848 My Dear Sir I have much pleasure in introducing to you acquaintance Lieut. Ruxton A.D.C. to His Excellency Sir John Harvey Governor of Novascotia, whose visit to St. Louis is occasioned by the melancholy death of his Brother Lieut. Ruxton of the British Army.

I feel assured that you will be pleased to render Lieut. Ruxton every possible assistance and attention during his stay at St. Louis, which will confer a very great favour on Yours Very Truly William Elliott

B.H. Cheever Esqr. St. Louis.
