Wee have & by these presents doe voluntarily, & without any constraint or perswasion, but of our owne free motion              , put our selves, our Subjects our lands & estates, under the Govrment & Jurisdiction of massachusetts to bee govrned & protected by them, according to their just Lawes & orders, so farre as wee shall be made capable of understanding them, and wee do promise for ourselves, and all our subjects, and all our posterty to bee true, & faithful to the Said Government, and ayding to the mainteynance thereof, to our best ability, And from time to time to give speedy notice of any conspiracy attempt or evil intention, of any that wee shal know, or heard of against the same.
