And one principle design of the enimy was to begin a difference, beetwne the the english & praying indians liveing at wamesit. that so they must either bee secured by the english or nescesitated to fly to the enimy. this Nathaniel was afterward taken at Cochecho : and executed at Boston who confesed the same

Moreover Lieftenant Lieutenant Richardson, whose hay was Burnt was a person, welbeloved of these indians at wamesit & their great friend, who did not Aprehend (as hee told me that any of the wamesit men had burnt his hay. But others were of a contrary mind willing to give creditt to any report againste the praying indians & accordingly by their solicitations to the Genll court obtaind an order for a troope of horse (as I said Before) to march up to wamesit & bring downe those indians of wamesit to Boston: this matter might have been accomplished as wel by 2 men as 40 Troopers for the indians upon the least message from the court, would readily have obeyed. upon the 20th of october mr Joseph Cooke of cambridge was sent downs (by Cornet oakes that comanded the troops) unto the court to informe, that the wamesit Indians were upon the way coming downe according to order, And that they might be there on the morrow, withiall hee aquainted the court they were in number about 145 men women and children, whereof about 33 were men that they were all unarmed. that many of them were naked and sundry? of them decripit with age sundry infants and all wanted supplies of food for they were faine to leive most they
