1 Emigration
The Miami Tribe or Nation of Indians were the first inhabitants of the Country North west of the Ohio River.
From whence they emigrated is not known.
Their principle Town at this time is on the Wabash River at Masasinway, about sixty five miles South west from Fontinaque.
The Eel Rivers, Mua's, Piankeshaw's, and Kaskaskie's are branches of The Miami Tribe, and with a slight variation speak the same language. Their Towns are on the Wabash and Mississippi.
The Chippaways, Puttawatamies and Taways, emigrated from the North West.
The Two latter are branches of the former and speak nearly the same language.
Their principle Towns are on the Waters of Lake Michigan, Illinois and Mawue.
The Wyandots, Ottaways and Kickapoos emigrated from the North. Their articulation and pronunciation differ materially.
