Teamsters and choppers. They chop in winter,
begin to send logs down river in May. Logs are sometimes fastened in long lots by boring hole and driving in withe smith peg, then attaching the same withe simelarly to next log. Booms are a line of logs stretched across river to stop the drive. Cribs of logs filled with stone help the strength of boom - boom extending from crib to crib. The men follow the drive (or fleet of logs) in boat - a flat bottomed boat sharp at each end - and camp on the banks at night.
