Dear Jack.
Dear Jack,
I just thought I'd check in with you, make a couple of writing offerings, and wish you an indulgent advent. Howdy, and wasn't it a splendid autumn.  almost enough to make me forget the burning summer.  Doug Wixson & Fred Whitehead kept me posted on the writers congress KC success.  They'd be a couple of good ones at a poker table I expect.  I thought you'd be interested in my Hiway 50 experience.  I'm sure you have dozens of your own to set against it.  "Nijinksky" is probably not quite done but he's at least presentable.  "Ozark Meandering" I have a funny feeling I may have sent you already.  Pardon the redundancy if I have.  I've spent a few days in the rainy woods logging for the winter.  2 cords down and three to go.  Let's have a mild winter, contrary to all the pessimisms.
Looking forward to the blooming of the Redbuds,
