Metcalf Lawrence, Kan., Dec 9 1894 Dear Father Your letters of the Fifth & Sixth and telegram of seventh received also telegram from Uncle Eliab in answer to one from Wilder Hope to get another letter to day and hear how Ralph is. Am almost inclined to start back this P.M. anyway picking up Ethel on the way if she has not already gone. I should have stayed there when I was there. Has Bertha come back? If I could only write a letter I would try to do so now, but don't know how. I can only say that she seemed to be just as much mother to me as she was to her own boys. Chas
