interested VOKS (Society for Cultural Relations) enough in a projected study on Russian influences on English literature to be rated a visa--and when I arrived in Leningrad, to be received as a guest and entertained for six weeks. It was quite a nice experience. Now, more than ever before, I feel I must write the book--if only to justify my entertainment. So that is what I'm trying to put through, & it will take some months yet of research.
