I know as little I suppose about the things at Milo as you do. I have had letters from there but once since I came away & then in consequence of teasing and scolding them. I have written home frequently. I know not much of the Crops on the Farm except that Charles wrote that the Winter Wheat look'd nicely better than he expected - till a few days before, the rust had taken it & he was afraid it would n't be good for much - the season has been very old - colder than for many years before there can be very little corn unless the very last few weeks of fine weather (but dry) has brought it forward, probably it has very much, & if the frost holds off late there may be some. I think I shall go home in a few weeks, I want very much to see the children and know how they all get along there

 How long do you expect to stay where you are or on that road. I think you ought not to be backward about taking all the pay they'll possibly allow you - for I am sure I should want at least one thousand dollars a year more for doing the same Service there than in some comfortable places in N.E. Health, Society, religious priveliges etc. all considered. Eliab says he is well but he dont really seem to me like a well man I guess he is determined to stay at Browns as long as he lives which I fear wont be many years if he does. How much healthier & happier he might be  on a Snug little Farm with a disposition to enjoy it- & a good discreet wife, help meet for him
