Conveniently I had taken up again, and rather now seriously, my earlier study of the violin, along with harmony & counterpoint. These were wonderful hours spent at the conservatory in the company of Prof. Weidig, who had all the qualities attributed to Germans by graduates in Louisa May Alcott before the wars.
