Holidays were often celebrated on ?estor? Street, at Grandfather Farnsworth's. The great oval table was crowned with damask and American Beauty rolls and Grandfather presided over us all as we struggled through six heavy courses beginning with lobster bisque. "Eh?" "What's she saying, George?" When it was finally over, Marion and I were encouraged to go downstairs to the kitchen to thank Cassius and Jilly for such a beautiful dinner and wish them a Merry Christmas. Many years later, I had occasion to conc?..t the family records in connection with the termination of lumbering operations in Wisconsin and Michigan and the liquidation of assets owned by the companies which the grandfathers had founded.
