It is a pleasure to have the privilege of writing your name at the head of a letter after these many years of admiring you as an author. There is not much of Christmas in my verses this year, as there is not much of "Peace on earth and good will to men in the world". But we do have our country to one and honor, and keep out of the bloodshed if possible.
