January, Sunday, 25. 1863. Wrote a letter home but did not send it. Been busy in the office to day. Nothing of any importance occurred today so far as I can learn. Monday, 26. Mailed my letter home. Spent the day in the office in the boat. Nothing new. Weather strong & unpleasant. Working on the ditch & in the levees.
