Dear friend Sarah,
I have delayed sometime in writing you & also your sister Mary, for it has been my mind to try & visit you. But we have found a great deal to ocupy out time since I wrote before. We are all in comfortable health, it is a blessing I think we realize & hope that we are truly thankful to our Heavenly Father for it. My thoughts often are turned to your people & the many kindness you have shown in any way, I hope that you will never be left to suffer, for the want of friends If our trust is in God we need not fear, He alone, is able to carry us through dangers, both seen & unseen, where have you been this winter, also your other sisters. I should like to hear from them all. Your youngest brother
