Your letter to William came this morning and it was very welcome, I assure you, for we had been expecting and expecting and watching for a letter from home for many days. We hardly knew how to account for your silence until Mary received a letter from Lewis in which Eddie said that Mother and you were there. We were very glad you were able to go but it really seems as if you ought to have staid longer it is such a journey up there. They must have been very lonely at home when you were gone. Your letter to William came this morning and it was very welcome, I assure you, for we had been expecting and expecting and watching for a letter from home for many days. We hardly knew how to account for your silence until Mary received a letter from Lewis in which Eddie said that Mother and you were there.
