Dear Sister Jennie,
Dear Sister Jennie,
We have written one letter home this week but as Anna was not as well then as she had been I know you will be anxious to hear again. She has been feeling much better for two or three days and I do hope she will soon begin to gain in strength and flesh. Indeed she is some stronger now than when we left home but she isn't very fat but we cannot expect her to gain fast especially in flesh (I think Sarah is gaining in that respect --A) Anna is resting her now so of course I can write anything about her that I like. She keeps up pretty good spirits (I guess she means wine) most all the time, and isn't so awful smart as she used to be at home, that is with her needle but she is smarter getting up in the morning (and I am not so mart.) We have the bell ringing here before breakfast and sometimes they all ring before we are fairly up; first the [[unclear]] rising bell rings at half past five, second the cow bells ring somewhere about six,

She keeps up pretty good spirits (I guess she means wine) most all the time, and isn't so awful smart as she used to be at home, that is with her needle but she is smarter getting up in the morning (and I am not so mart.) We have the bell ringing here before breakfast and sometimes they all ring before we are fairly up; first the Seminary rising bell rings at half past five, second the cow bells ring somewhere about six,
