Enclosed find statement of a/c A July 1st last, and a draft to your order for the sum of One hundred fifty-eight & 11/100 dollars ($158.11) in settlement of a/c as rendered. "Our Wild Indians" goes slow now-a-days, it has had its day. I doubt whether I shall ever reach the 40 thousand I hoped for. An occasional order is the only business I have on it now, and these grow more and more infrequent. I trust you will pardon the delay in making up your a/c this time. It is due to the fact that we have been excessively busy in pushing campaign books. First we brought out Duox's "Lives of Blauie & Logan"; and as we did not wish to be partial we afterwards brought out Darnaums' "Lives of Cleveland & Hendriats." We supply the books & the public may take its choice. I enclose circulars of both books. I received a letter from M. A Townsend a few days ago. He says he is post trader at Fort Sully, and he wanted 6 copies of "Indians" sent in. But he sent no money. I have sent the books, however, and I suppose he will pay for them.
