My dear Sister,

  I thought I would write my first letter to you, as you have been so faithful in writing while I was sick. We have been home since Friday, as I believe Jennie wrote you. Came just in time, as it was an unusually warm and lovely day ‑ and it has rained some every day since. Today or this P.M. it is snowing quite hard. Esther and little Frankie are with us yet, and are a great deal of company. Our girl, Sadie Parry, came today, a little girl about 13 or so I should think. I am gaining quite nicely I think — if I do not have another spell, think I shall get along.  written sideways across top of page look for one pretty often when I go down to N.Y. I wonder how tall Gracie is now & whether she has quite forgotten us. When have you seen Mrs. J Thomas —my love to her also Mrs. Winston We will bring some of the unclear with us — Shall I send one or two copies by mail?
