Dear Anne,
As it rains today and is so unpleasant I think mother may not go home till tomorrow- so I write you the first letter. Lewis probably has told you how we were just too late for the train we expected to take- but he could not tell you that we did not leave Utica till 2-30 and in the mean time enjoyed ourselves and rested nicely so that we almost forgot we had been at all disappointed- when mother, Ella and Lewis left us we expected to take
