I forgot to mention that Genl Bradly said in his letter recd yesterday that 2 cos of Cavy were to be sent up to clear out these miners - I shall be glad to have them cleared as they induce my men & the teamsters to steal provision & to sell to them -- & I am not convinced that some of them might want some of my stock - I'd rather risk ten Indians than one white thief -- No additional light on the lost mail matter. Bust seems quite downhearted | ||
