& Trout insisted in going out after them though it rained hard & is as dark as Erebus - I gave him all the men he wanted but I wouldn't go out tonight for all the Texas cattle in the country. No game today - I wanted to go about seven miles further but we lost so much time this am that I could not - Overturned one wagon (one of the Hdqr) & broke the tongue of the Drs ambulance (Dr Jaquette) very small casualties considering the circumstances. As it happens both occurred on comparatively poor ground from the carelessness of the Drivers.
