Guide arrived yesterday. Discharged "California Joe" for drunkenness - Hired a man named Duffele --camped on bank of Platte 1/2 mile above ferry - very good camp. Got everything over. Issued my marching & camp order. Had a pleasant evening & went to bed early - Janney & [[unclear]] got over about 5 pm - all ready for start in the morning - except that the photographer has not (arrived?) | |||

Guide arrived yesterday. Discharged "California Joe" for drunkenness - Hired a man named Duffele --camped on bank of Platte 1/2 mile above ferry - very good camp. Got everything over. Issued my marching & camp order. Had a pleasant evening & went to bed early - Janney & unclear got over about 5 pm - all ready for start in the morning - except that the photographer has not (arrived?)
