   McGregor's Landing Iowa  62 M. Very few buildings in a Cove under the bluffs, but seems to have considerable business  The River is beautiful exceedingly with curiously rocky bluffs, half concealed in low tides. Opposite McGregor's & both above & below opens out a broad cove of low land, and the Bank of Wisconsin River somewhere in it. Up one of the arms of the River shows? Fig? Cranford and Prairie Du Chien. FC? Cranford extensive white Barracks 2 story, on the smooth gently rising prairie

   Prairie Du Chien apparently an Old Town & considerably large  scattered, not so large as DuBuque but quite a village.  below on the flat prairie small old 2 story houses scattered entirely out doors, no fences or trees. bare enough.  Very little freight here but wood.  Back of the strip of Prairie on  [[?]] is the scattered Village rise the bluffs, Smooth & [[grapy?]] perhaps half up? Then a perpendicular wall of rock along
