My wife thinks she wrote last and now - do let us hear from some of your family giving us some account of Uncles last days & departure  also concerning the other members of your family. Mr Rankin and Storms & my family are all well as usual. You probably are aware that Mr Rankin is in very imperfect health, and has had sad turns, still  She is very much better than she has been. Our oldest daughter Gertrude who was married last fall & went to Brooklyn to live, has been sick much of the time. She had Dyptherea early in the fall & has not entirely recovered from it yet. My wife has been with her about 4 weeks this Winter. The weather has been severely cold since 1st Jany and may have been call from earth in our vicinity especially among the aged. We are daily admonished to be also ready.  Dear Mother is now in her 85th year and although she suffers a great deal from her stomach yet she is up and around her room nearly every day
