the spinal column to be thus rubbed, alcohol is better, than brandy because more stimulating I write his remarks in conversation with me about Percie I suppose he would not be exactly pleased to have me volunteer his medical advice; physicians you know are rather sensitive on this point; but I feel so much anxiety for him so desirous not to have any more precious time lost without effort for his cure; there is probably yet danger in his case that I cannot help writing as I have. The Dr. has no confidence in [unclear] Sitz baths says they are more likely to injure than benefit that he has a fine constitution that he cholero morbus turn when we were there was probably of more benefit to him than any thing else. You see I am again naughtily divulging secret & private remarks!! The Dr. says Mother came near dying; it was the first stage of cholera. I do'nt wonder you were alarmed. It seems strange to me that one of so healthy a habit of body should be suddenly & violently attached. I should like much to see the little Energine. wish I could step in & see you Why so you write so discouragingly mother about coming to Elyria? I do not want you to leave Lucy while Percie is so poorly but when the time comes I so want you should come & stay a good long time here & enjoy yourself. I had a good letter from Nettie about two weeks since. My letter must go now or wait another day affections Anne.
