Elyria Oct 30 1853

Dear Mother Your last good letter arrived in due season & I was truly glad of it. I had begun to wonder where you were, whether you had returned & why did not write. It seems then that your visit to the old place was not altogether pleasant that Charles did not go at all - I fear he never will now: You did not mention many particulars about Aunt Conant & Hervey, his wife & children & I believe have not mentioned uncle C. at all. I am glad you staid so long with aunt Esther wish you would write more of her health, her mind & state generally, & of Joanne Gibson. Charles has accomplished so much on the house hope I shall see all the improvements next summer. Much love to Charles & Albina & to the wee ones; - there is no need of my writing particularly to them too, this time, but when you have gone I will endeavor to do my part. I have only one less child tell Albina to care for them she has,
