The Trees & the grass have grown so very fast this 2 or 3 weeks past you can hardly imagine how beautiful they do look such a deep, lively rich variety of green - The trees in front of the House never look'd so beautiful before - perhaps in gratitude for the attention you & E. gave them when you were here - grass is said to be much water kill'd tho Walter says it is not on our farm - it look very finely from here tho' not ripe yet the 'mower might well 'fill his scythe' Sabbath 25th Today the leader of the Choir of singers & Superintendent of Sabbath school Mr. Wetherbee attended the Universalist Meeting forenoon & afternoon - but went into the Baptist house at noon to attend to his duty as Superintendent I have almost no communication or acquaintance with the people in this town - Tis wrong to live so in regard to social intercourse with the neighbors especially I am aware the fault is mine that I have been easily guilty - tho I have n't realiz'd it as the time pass'd along and now dont know how to remedy it or atone for it I can hardly believe I am really misanthropic tho' perhaps I must own that I am naturally unsocial - yet I know I do enjoy such society as I like exceedingly O what blessedness there is in contemplating the deep the rich the unspeakable gift the Blood of Christ that cleanseth from all Sin Pray for me my son that I may be cleans'd purified wholy santified and made meet for the inheritance - Antoinette calculates to wait till Anna goes back & I'm so sorry she did nt stay here longer - We are looking for Charles to come the last of this week - As you wont have a wife & baby to talk to this summer you will of course write a good deel to her and I hope I shall hear from you often as you make it convenient too God be with you & bless you & keep you from all evil
