To the Honble John Bell Washington City Chairman of the Committee May 1838 on Indian Affairs, Sir, We perceive there has been a resolution of the Senate, calling on the Executive for information concerning the views entertained by the Cherokee delegation of the communication of the secretary of War, accompanying the President's message on Cherokee affairs. As the subject of that communication has been also laid before the Indian Committee of the House of Representatives, *the Delegation take the liberty of submitting to you a recommendation which they wuld have placed before the Secretary of War, as containing their views, had not all further correspondence been closed by the reference to Congress.
