22) as a tailoring establishment and a Mr. Sommers as a Hat and Cap store which was entirely consumed with their contents--it being very frosty the Engine the only one in the City could not be put in operation for half an hour--and the prospect of a large conflagration was at one time almost certain--as the next store adjoining was a drug store and the only thing that saved it was that the roof was covered with snow--after the Engine was got in operation the flames were quickly subdued--Mr Robinsons' loss is about $2000. insured for $1000.--Summer' loss $3000. insured $2000. -- Mr Lane the proprietor of the Music Store died at 3 o'clock this morning--have been to School today--we are to have a lecture this evening on commercial law.-- Saturday Feby 9th Attended the lecture at the College last evening--it was delivered by Ben.
