The style of the family is plain and substantial rather than genteel, not much citified though eminently decent and comfortable, The daughter has quite a taste for having things about right- pretty ambitious, she has just been netting a handsome tidy, is about to make a large lamp mat, like your little Cologne stand, and she has just got framed one of the most elegant drawings in pencil I ever saw. she dresses genteelly and is a handsome girl of 21 years. Tell my dear Mother that a letter from her is at all times most acceptable I heard her say that she has got her hand in, while writing for dear Joseph, so that it was easier than formerly: How glad I should be if she would regularly write something once a week: and send the letter soon as she gets it filled. I want to hear particularly from the little Josey and from Charley- also from the other children to whom give much love, tell Lucy at haste? to write to me, and James too. Much love to all. I suppose Eliab has returned to Bangor, if not tell him I shall take an opportunity to answer his letter before long also I am expecting a letter from Isaac every day. My watch goes admirably,- though Lizzie, means I got a nice little chain, by weight highly ornamental in Bangor for 20dolls.
