to give her a room on one of the lower floors. & we sent her by Express a pretty, warm, worsted sacque as she complained of taking cold from working in cold rooms & from the cold halls & passages Her expenses have been more than we expected, averaging nearly two dolls. per week besides regular charges. We begin to think that school not so much cheaper than others as we supposed- there are so many extras. We do not intend now to keep her there another year, but we have been thinking it would be better for her to stay at Bangor a few months or even a year if Elias? & Mallie were willing to take her to board, letting her come right into the family, taking care of, & waiting upon herself (as she will know how to do after a year at Hadly?) going into society a little- just as she would with Maria & her sisters & attending to some branches of study, French etc. We think this if it should be practicable & seems best all around, would do her & as much & more good with less expense than a year at school & be generally better than making her debut in Elyria with old associates etc. Afterwards perhaps her father would give her another year at school either Holyoke or some other: we have not mentioned these plans to Hattie herself or to any
