Pergamos Rev 2:12-17

Introduction. Pergamus - distinguished for 1. Great Splendor - 2. Vast Library 3. Temples of Zeus, Athena, & Apollo 4. Worship of AEsculapius - the healing god - Whose temple remains still exist.

I. The Character which Christ assumes - Anticipates char - of the Ch - "These things saith He which hath the Sharp Sword with two Edges." 1st chapter 16th ver. - Says "Out of His mouth went a sharp two Edged Sword". "He hath made my mouth as a shepherd" "The Sword of the Spirit - Word of God - "Word of God is quick & powerful & sharper &c"
