We passed through several old towns, whose principal features seemed ot be the old churches, & tumbled down walls, And the most interesting feature of the whol ride was our slow winding in & out of mountains & valleys untill we reached the top, & from there we had a fine view of the villages below, cultivated fields, winding mountain streams, & the natives with their little donkeys (looking like little insects) creeping along the steep side of the mountains, took breakfast at Esperanza where our principal dish was a very [[Unclear]] omelette, Mount Orizabe towering
