Dear Sis, Davie reached here safely and he is now writing a letter home which I will send with this. We all are glad to see him especially as he comes fresh (underlined) from you- for to tell you the truth we are getting to have quite a longing for the sight of you. Sarah showed him to his bed before Eddie was ready to go. I think Pierce staid all night tho' I am not sure. I came to bed and am now writing in my bedroom. Pierce had just returned from Boomille. He says he got his ride this way- he saw a man with three calves in his wagon and he asked him if he wanted a calf- on his answering yes P. jumped in and told him to drive on.
