The sky is not-clear and we have had no sight of the sun today- About four years ago a young girl who lived in the next house above this slipped on the ice on the side walk while playing - at first it was thought the injury was not serious only the ankle sprained - but it never got well and for about a year she was in the hospital in Cleveland, [unclear]. - Yesterday her body was brought home and she is to be buried today - She was 20 yrs. old - the baby and pet of a large family- This morning, Claire who sleeps with me, and got [unclear] at our [unclear] hour and on coming down stairs found all quiet - no one stirring and no fires - I built the fire and Claire begged to call her uncle Holden [SHathie?] - and as it was near [unclear] her [unclear] on their door - College exercises are at 7-45 and I feared he might be tardy -Then we went to Lizzie's room
