It is beautiful to day.  all of us well, I remained at home during the morning, and after dinner I went out to drive, Belle came to see me in the morning and I went to see her in the afternoon, I sent the babies out to walk, we received letters from Saratog[[a]] one from Ada she is well, Octave received a pictur[[e]] from Saratoga of the house we lived in during our stay there -- they all well.  Mr Angell went to Evanston with Mr Lunt. to see Catie  Mr James Morton,s wife had a daughter to day.  all well, Mr Harvey Belle and John came up and spent the Afternoon

It is quite cold, all of us well.  babies very well -- Sheridan I forgot has cold with fever -- and did not go to Pullmans Office to work, I went driving and too Mr Angell and Hunt with me.  Thomas our driver drove us so close the track, we all jumped out -- and no harm was done. Mr A. D. Hunt arrived to day and left to night.

Thursday Aug 19th 1875.

This has been a lovely day. all of us well, the babies have been splendid all the day. the Grannum has agreeded with them first rate, and they feel now very happy -- I took them out in my Carriage to drive. Mrs Fleetwood called to see me, and the babies so did Ella Badger and Mrs Hilton, Horace was here also -- I went to the Office for Mr Angell and he and I went out riding on the Boulevard Mr Badger went in the Pheaton with Shreve and Hunt to hear the Music on the Boulevard I received a letter from Saratoga from Ada all well and fat --, Weather quite cool here? in Saratoga is is quite warm --
